England dominated!!!!!

The last wicket pair of Daren Powell and Fidel Edwards defied England for 60 deliveries as West Indies clinched a thrilling draw on the final day of third test her on Thursday. West indies was set an target of 503 for victory, batted through the final day from 143 for 3 to finish at 370 for 9 when bad light altered play four overs before at the Antigua Recreation Ground.

Powell contributed 22 off 55 balls while Edward remained unbeaten at 5 off 26 deliveries. The pair batted carefully for 36 minutes until the darkening skies forced the umpires Daryl Harper of Australia and Rudy Koertzen of South Africa offered the batsmen the decision to end play which they gladly accepted. West Indies have already won a match and therefore with a 1-0 lead they clinched the title.

“Yes it’s a victory for us. I have to commend the guys for the effort they put in. It’s tremendous to come out with a draw”, the West Indies Captain, Chris Gayle said. Gayle praised Edwards, whose match saving innings was the third of this kind from him. ”Its customary for him and he has done it again”, Gayle said.

England dominated the third test and sniffed for a series leveling victory but their hopes shattered with their bowler’s inability to take the last wicket. “It’s pretty difficult to take. We had to work exceptionally hard to work for our wickets there in the fourth innings”, the England skipper Andrew Strauss said.
